Baptism

A Baptism or Christening a first step in becoming a follower of Jesus. We are happy to baptise children and adults of any age.

When a baby or younger child is baptised parents and godparents make the promises of Christian commitment on behalf of their child. To help you to bring your child up as a Christian, we are happy to welcome you and your family to any of our services. If you are new to church and aren’t quite sure where to start then our Family Service on the1st Sunday of the month is especially suitable.

Here your children can begin to learn about the Christian faith into which they are being baptised, in a safe, child-friendly environment. We are also happy to help you with suggestions about prayers to teach your children or Bible stories to share with them.

How do I go about booking a baptism?

If you are interested in Baptism for yourself or your child, please contact Revd Louise Williams

When do you do the baptisms?

This is something that you will need to discuss with Louise. Since both our church buildings are quite small, we find that it is better to have baptism services on Sunday afternoons, after our regular morning services have finished. We will try to be flexible with the dates you prefer but we may not be able to guarantee your first choice!

Is there any cost

Like God's love, the service is entirely free. We will leave a plate at the back of the church for donations but there is no set fee or expectation of a particular level of contribution.

We look forward to hearing from you. For further information have a look at Church of England website for more details.
