My dear Friends.

At our next Parochial Church Council Meeting we plan to have a discussion which will include the future of our Church Magazine. Under the general heading of communication (Parish Magazine, Newsletter, once a year Christmas leaflet to every home in the parish, noticeboards and the Website) the future of the Parish Magazine is likely to come under the spotlight. Does it serve a useful purpose nowadays (many parishes no longer produce a magazine)? Would it be better to produce a quarterly newsletter delivered to every home in the parish? or what?

From time to time, in whatever church I have been this kind of review has appeared on the PCC Agenda and it is an important matter. A lot of work goes into producing the magazine for 10 months of each year and if people have it but do not read it, perhaps it is rime to have a change. But would a quarterly leaflet he more of an attraction? I do get a limited feedback from those who read my letter in the magazine (not always complimentary!) and from what I hear I believe it is right to carry on, but what do you think?

At our Annual Church Meeting recently the following were confirmed as representing you on our PCC: Keith Barham, Laurie Gaymer, Connie Brown, Alan Bratt, Ted Lester, Anita Barham, Tracy Green, Margaret Munday, Peter kolph, Jeremy Shallis, Joyce Spall, Sandra flames, Andy Clipsham, Karen Hughes, Maria MacLead, Betty Owen and Janet Rose and since then Pat Camping has been co-opted.

If you know one or more of these people do let them know your views, but if they are all just names to you then do give me a ring or pop a note through my door. Your views are important and it could be a case of 'if you don't use it you lose it'! So if you value the magazine and wish to see it continue then do let us know. If on the other hand you think other ways are better in communicating the gospel and what is going on in the life of the church, do also let us know your ideas.

Even if you want the magazine to continue you may like to see changes so do let us know. It would be helpful to know what is read and what is not in the present format. So I (and the PCC) await your comments. With many thanks.

God bless you all.
