The Working Communities Partnership
The WCP was formed in 1996 from a nucleus of Shoebury community organisations,Shoebury businesses, Borough and County representatives, initially to attempt to gain badly needed funds and support from a Government Single Regeneration Bid.
The result of the surveys, opinion gatherings and plans that went into that was a grant from Central Government of UKP 800,000 with an expectation of a total spend, including matched funding, over seven years of UKP 4,000,000.
This initiative has brought together groups of people who will carry on with a corporate effort to improve and rebuild the Shoebury community, its businesses, its educational and living standards, and its future prospects into the 21st century.
The parish puts aside 10% of Sunday Giving for missionary work.
